{"id":806,"date":"2020-09-27T09:48:19","date_gmt":"2020-09-27T09:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/behindagreatproject.com\/engineer\/amancio-williams\/"},"modified":"2020-09-27T09:49:09","modified_gmt":"2020-09-27T09:49:09","slug":"amancio-williams","status":"publish","type":"engineer","link":"https:\/\/behindagreatproject.com\/es\/engineer\/amancio-williams\/","title":{"rendered":"Amancio Williams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Naci\u00f3 en 1913 en Buenos Aires, Argentina.\u00a0 A los dieciocho a\u00f1os ingres\u00f3 en la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), pero abandon\u00f3 sus estudios tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s para meterse en el mundo de la aviaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En 1938 inici\u00f3 la carrera de Arquitectura, tambi\u00e9n en la UBA, termin\u00e1ndola en 1941.<\/p>\n<p>En 1947 viaj\u00f3 a Europa para conocer a Le Corbusier, con quien mantuvo correspondencia extensa posteriormente. De hecho, en 1949 Le Corbusier le recomend\u00f3 para dirigir su \u00fanica obra en Sudam\u00e9rica, la casa Curutchet.<\/p>\n<p>Destac\u00f3 por un enfoque basado en la investigaci\u00f3n, pero pocos de sus proyectos fueron realizados. Algunos de sus trabajos son la propuesta para el aeropuerto de Buenos Aires (1945), el proyecto del Edificio suspendido de oficinas (1946) o la Cruz en el R\u00edo de la Plata (1978-1980). Un proyecto realizado, que dise\u00f1\u00f3 para su padre y por el que es m\u00e1s conocido como exponente de la arquitectura moderna, es la Casa del Puente o casa sobre el arroyo, construida entre 1943 y 1945 bajo su direcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, desarroll\u00f3 una intensa actividad docente en su taller.
